The ARO is a non-political, secular, non-profit 501(c)(3) humanitarian organization (U.S. Federal Tax ID 95-4822766) based in Cypress, CA. ARO also is registered in Afghanistan as a non governmental organization (NGO), a requirement of the Afghan government.

ARO’s sole purpose is to serve needy people throughout Afghanistan with basic relief needs (e.g. clothing, medical supplies, food, hygiene supplies) and educational support (e.g. education programs and school supplies). Established in the United States in 1998, the ARO is managed and operated by a volunteer board of directors and community volunteers, both Afghan and American.

Donations and gifts to the ARO are tax deductible as allowed by federal law and provided for in the Internal Revenue Code.
