ARO is registered in the United States as a 501c3 non profit organization and in Afghanistan as a non governmental organization (NGO).  All donations to ARO are tax deductible as allowable by IRS tax code.  ARO operates with minimal overhead in the United States, with an all-volunteer team and no paid office or warehouse space.  We spend less than 7 percent on administration and fundraising (in the United States and Afghanistan), and attempt to put the maximum percentage of donor contributions to work in Afghanistan.
