ARO redesigned our website to include more information, more photographs and more features about our work.  We are proud of the accomplishments achieved by ARO volunteers over the past decade.  Founded in 1998, ARO entered Afghanistan through rough terrain with a small team of volunteers focused on bringing aid in very difficult times.  Today, we have grown from a small effort of a few friends, to a grassroots organization of many friends who share a common hope for the recovery of Afghanistan.   Even as we grow, we want to maintain the original spirit of personal contribution.

 As we continue into the next decade, we will add more personal commentary and photographs—old and new—to share with you the stories of ARO volunteers who make a difference.  The ARO family is special.  During times when there was little outside support, ARO volunteers stood by and took personal risks to help Afghanistan.  This passionate dedication brings positive change and support for those in need.  We invite you to join our family and support our work.  Help build hope in Afghanistan.
