In April 1999, ARO president, Aboul Khalili, traveled again to Afghanistan to deliver relief aid and contributions collected from the Afghan American communities in California and Virginia. Approximately $10,000.00 was collected through charity concerts in both communities.

On this trip, the ARO was able to access and deliver supplies and donations to villages in northern Afghanistan. The relief distribution on this trip included financial aid, clothing and school supplies. The photos on this page show a large shipping container filled with ARO donations ready to leave Los Angeles, California, and a distribution of school supplies—including desks, chairs, and books purchased by ARO—to a high school in Taluqan, Afghanistan.
